Precautions for using syringes

1, Preparation before injection
Hand Hygiene: Before operation, thoroughly clean your hands with soap and running water, or disinfect them with alcohol based hand sanitizer.

Check the Package: Before use, carefully inspect the outer packaging of the product to ensure that it is intact and undamaged. If the packaging is found to be damaged, torn or damp, please discard it immediately and do not use it.

Ensure Sterility: Ensure that the syringe is packaged in disposable sterile packaging. After opening the packaging, it should be used immediately. Avoid touching the needle, piston inner rod, and syringe of the syringe to maintain sterility.

Verify Information: Carefully check the drug name, dosage, concentration, and expiration date. Confirm whether the syringe capacity (e.g. 5ml) and scale match the required dose.

Choose Environment: Choose a clean, bright, and dry desktop for operation, avoiding preparing medication in dusty or ventilated areas.

Prepare the Attach Needle: If the needle and syringe are separate, tighten the needle securely (Luer Lock) or push (Luer Slip) onto the syringe in a sterile manner.

2, Aspirating Medication
Exhaust technique (Remove Air Bubbles): After suctioning the medicine, place the needle upwards, gently tap the syringe to gather the bubbles at the top, and then slowly push the piston to expel the air. Ensure accurate dosage and no excess bubbles.

Avoid contamination: Do not use used needles to aspirate medication to avoid contaminating the remaining medication in the bottle.

3, During injection process
Site Selection: Select the correct injection site (such as intramuscular injection or subcutaneous injection) according to the doctor's advice. Take turns changing the injection site to avoid multiple injections at the same location, in order to prevent hardening or fat atrophy.

Skin Disinfection: Use an alcohol swab to rotate and disinfect around the injection point, and let it air dry naturally (about 30 seconds). Do not blow air or touch disinfected areas with your hands.

Insertion Angle: Maintain the correct insertion angle and depth based on the type of injection (subcutaneous, muscular, intradermal).

Aspiration: During intramuscular injection, the piston can be gently withdrawn before pushing the medication. If blood reflux is found, the needle should be immediately removed and the area replaced. If there is no blood return, the medication can be slowly injected.

Smooth Injection: Inject medication at a steady and even speed. Rapid injection may cause discomfort.

4, After injection treatment
Immediate Disposal: After the injection is completed, the used syringe and needle should be immediately discarded into a dedicated Sharps Container.

Never Reuse: It is absolutely forbidden to reuse syringes or needles! Each injection must use a brand new, sterile product. Repeated use can lead to infection, disease transmission (such as HIV, hepatitis), and severe pain caused by blunt needles.

Dispose of Sharps Container Proper: When the Sharps Container is filled to 3/4, it should be sealed and disposed of according to the medical waste disposal regulations in your area. Do not dispose of syringes in regular trash cans or recycling bins.

5, Important Warnings
Keep Out of Reach of Children: Always store syringes and all medications out of reach and sight of children.

Do Not Share: It is strictly prohibited to share syringes with others, as this is a highly risky behavior for spreading blood borne diseases.

Allergic reaction: Pay attention to observing for signs of allergic reaction (such as rash, itching, difficulty breathing). If it occurs, please seek medical assistance immediately.

Needle bending or blockage: If the needle bends or blocks after touching a hard surface, please replace it immediately with a new needle and do not attempt to straighten or unclog it.
